RETRO FILMHIRADÓK ONLINE
A Magyar Nemzeti Filmarchívum 2005-ben az Informatikai és Hírközlési Minisztérium támogatásával digitalizálta gyűjteményének egy részét. 115 játékfilm mellett az 1931-es első hangos filmhíradótól kezdve 1943-ig 597 darab filmhíradót digitalizáltak a szakemberek. A digitális kópiák ezután a NAVA különgyűjteményébe kerültek.
Tavaly, a 77 filmajándék elnevezésű akciónk sikere nyomán határoztuk el, hogy a Filmarchívumban őrzött és felújított filmhíradókat is hasonló, felhasználóbarát módon tesszük elérhetővé. Ez az első alkalom, hogy egy korszak filmhíradói szakértői válogatás nélkül, teljes egészében az érdeklődők elé kerülnek. Úgy, hogy azokat a közönség kommentálhatja, kulcsszavazhatja, rendezheti és felhasználhatja saját blogjához vagy iskolai prezentációjához.
Mi, a Neumann-nál abban hiszünk, hogy múltunk dokumentumai a jelen kultúrájának építőkövei. A kulturális építkezés pedig akkor sikeres, ha mindenki hozzáfér az építőelemekhez és ha élénk, tényszerű párbeszéd alakul ki az értelmezések között.
A filmhíradó nem olvasható tankönyvként, inkább lenyomatát adja a kornak.
Mint archívum nem tehetünk mást: megőrizzük, ami ránk maradt. Közben pedig lehetőséget biztosítunk az utódoknak arra, hogy értékeljék mindazt, amit mondani akartak magukról az elődök.

In 2005, with support from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, the Hungarian National Film Archive digitalised a part of its collection. In addition to 115 feature films, 597 newsreels from the years between 1931 and 1943 were digitalised, including the first talking newsreel from 1931. The films were added to the special collection of the National Audio-Visual Archive (NAVA).
Last year, encouraged by the success of our “77 movie presents from NAVA” campaign, we decided to make these newsreels accessible to all in a user-friendly format. This is the first time that all the newsreels from an era have been made available to the public in their entirety, in a format that facilitates commenting, editing and using the newsreels in blogs or presentations.
We at Neumann believe that the documents of our past are the building blocks of our present culture. In order for our culture to develop and flourish, these building blocks must be made available to everyone and their interpretation should be open to lively, objective dialogue and debate.
Some contend that these documents present a false and distorted view of the truth. We believe that each of these documents is a representation of reality. They cannot be separated from the era in which they were conceived, nor from the meaning that their authors intended. Newsreels should not be regarded as textbooks but as imprints of their times.
As an archive we have no choice but to preserve the legacy which has been left to us.
